UI, UX, and Front-End Developer

Our team is looking for a storyteller whose skills are UI, UX, and Front-End Development. This storyteller is responsible for helping us simplify a complex idea, make information more digestible and concise to the reader, more engaging, and have a lasting impact on our customers about our brand. They will design user interfaces, user experiences and develop code for our web, cloud, single page, enterprise applications, system integration & implementation to empower our partners and business with what they need to protect their businesses and help their clients.

This person will be tasked with building and managing our website and ECO-S, our business suite.

This person works directly with the Director of Brand Strategy and Lead UI, UX, and Front-End to ensure all efforts are aligned with our overall Branding, Marketing, and Sales strategy. Their top priority will be developing/testing user experience and coding our website and ECO-S and they will work with multiple departments to get work done.

An ability to remain calm under pressure, navigate through ambiguity, world-class communication, design, and development skills, profit-minded, creating user experiences, and drive for continuous improvement are critical to this role. This role will improve the customer experience, directly impact revenue for the company, and increase customer loyalty.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and deconstruct our users’ digital interactions and habits
  • Come up with UI and UX strategies based on our target goals
  • Create and maintain digital assets, such as interface design files, wireframes, documentation, and interactive mockups using design and prototyping tools: e.g., Adobe XD
  • Design, build and maintain highly reusable JavaScript, HTML, and CSS code
  • Understand the limitations of our tech stack and business model and provide technical advice wherever necessary
  • Understand human-computer interaction design (HCID)
  • Understand project management – Agile/Scrum/Kanban, VSTS, Jira, Confluence, Trello, Sprints/Retrospectives
  • You will read/listen to three critical books for our company: The Hard Thing About Hard Things, Building a StoryBrand, and Zero to One within the first month
  • Be able to work


  • 4+ years experience as a front-end developer
  • 3+ years experience as a UI/UX designer
  • A portfolio that demonstrates both JavaScript proficiency and understanding of SOLID design principles (plugins, node packages, etc.)
  • Expert knowledge of CSS3, CSS extension languages (Less, Sass), Bootstrap (v4.x & v5.x and CSS preprocessor tools
  • Expert knowledge of HTML5 and its best practices
  • Expert knowledge of Package Management – Installation/Administration of packages, using npm, yarn, shrinkwrap/lock files
  • Expert knowledge of MEAN/MERN (MongoDB, Express, AngularJS/React, and NodeJS)
  • Expert knowledge of JAMstack (JS, APIs, Markup)
  • Proficiency in designing interfaces and building clickable prototypes using Adobe XD
  • A history of deconstructing user behavior to create an improved experience for users, showcased in the form of blog posts, articles, screencasts, etc.
  • Proficiency using Git/Git CLI (v2.6.x)/Git Bash (Win 8+), GitHub, & Gitlab for version control.
  • Proficiency using the command line
  • An ability to manage your calendar and perform under tight deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Position Details

  • Probationary 60 to 90 days contract position
